S+TOPIA CAMP盐城好玩科学营地

S+TOPIA CAMP is an adaptive-reuse project located within the former Daji Power Plant site in Yancheng, Jiangsu, China. Born from Yancheng’s industrial transformation toward green energy—including wind, solar, and electric power—the project takes new energy and China’s dual-carbon goals as its conceptual core.
With the ambition to become a benchmark for urban regeneration in China and a globally recognised model of sustainable urban development, the project is envisioned as a cultural tourism destination rooted in science fiction.
We examined the project through a trajectory that extends from Daji Power Plant, to Yancheng, to China, and ultimately to the world. Our goal was to create a visual symbol with global resonance. The positioning of “Science Camp” and “a sci-fi cultural destination” guided us towards a visual language shaped by technology, science, and speculative imagination. Meanwhile, the themes of green energy and sustainable urban development revealed two essential principles for the identity system: openness and growth.
Science, growth, openness, playfulness, and universal relevance led us to a symbol that embodies all of these qualities: the Pythagoras Tree. It became the generative origin of the visual concept.
Built upon the underlying logic of the Pythagoras Tree, the visual identity for S+TOPIA CAMP tells three interconnected stories: a Tree of Future Technology growing from the ruins of industrial history; a Salt Tree rooted in the distinctive identity of Yancheng, Jiangsu, China; and a Community Tree cultivated by countless geeks, makers, and innovators.

盐城好玩科学营地是位于中国江苏盐城大吉电厂的旧厂区改造项目，诞生于盐城地区产业升级（风、光、电绿色能源产业）的过程中，旨在以“新能源、双碳目标“为核心，以“中国城市更新范例”“世界级可持续发展城市样本”为发展目标，打造科幻文化主题文旅目的地。
我们沿着“大吉电厂—江苏盐城—中国—世界”的路径审视，希望构建一个世界级的视觉符号。“科学营地”、“科幻文化目的地”的定位指导我们提炼出科技、科学、科幻的视觉风格调性，而“绿色能源”“世界级可持续发展城市样本”则帮助我们找到构建视觉系统的关键，「开放性」与「生长性」。
科学、生长、开放、好玩、世界共通的特点，帮助我们寻找到了符合以上所有特征、概念的符号——毕达哥拉斯树，这将是我们视觉创意的原点。
